Hillbilly Hamburger Casserole is a classic comfort food dish made with ground beef, potatoes, onions, and cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they are translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until it is browned and crumbled.
  4. Season the beef mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  6. Spread the beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  7. Pour the condensed tomato soup over the beef mixture.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.
  9. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
