Caraway Seed Cake
Ingredients
- 225 g Self-raising flour
- 225 g Softened butter
- 225 g Caster sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 2 tsps Caraway seeds
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons Milk
- A pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 8in cake tin.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding a tablespoon of flour with each egg.
- Sift in the remaining flour, baking powder and salt into the mixture and fold together. Add in the caraway seeds, vanilla extract and milk then mix until combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and smooth the surface with a spatula.
- Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
- Once cooked, remove the cake from the oven and leave it to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
