Bananas Foster
Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup banana liqueur
- 1/2 cup dark rum
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise, then cut each half in half again to make quarters.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add the banana quarters to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, gently turning them once.
- Carefully add the banana liqueur to the skillet and let it warm up for a few seconds.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and add the rum. Using a long lighter, carefully ignite the rum (be cautious as flames will shoot up).
- Let the flames burn off and the sauce thicken slightly.
- Serve the Bananas Foster warm over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
- Enjoy!
